James O'Reilly is a photographer raised in the Comox Valley and born in the Maritimes. He is currently studying for his Bachelor's in Design of Graphic Design at Vancouver Island University. Actively pursuing photography for the past five years, his work was featured on the cover of Portal Magazine’s 2022 issue.

James has a strong interest in art, design, and cinematography. His photography often highlights architecture and hidden structures. When photographing people, he aims to capture a sense of motion, whether through the subject’s movement or the surrounding environment. He is also drawn to shooting at night, appreciating the time it allows to shape the emotions within an image.

Always exploring, James seeks out new locations and structures on Vancouver Island, bringing light to hidden treasures that might otherwise go unnoticed.
